While most of the Audi news stemming from the 2018 Geneva Motor Show is about the new Audi e-tron Prototype, the new Audi A6 is equally as important. While the e-tron puts the brand into a new segment and new territory, the A6 is one of the brand’s bread-and-butter vehicles. It’s Audi’s best-selling executive sedan and it’s one of most important cars in Audi’s lineup. So the brand-new A6 should not be overlooked in Geneva. Which is why we’ve brought you some live photos of the A6 from its stand in Switzerland.
Inside, the Audi A6 is very similar to that of the A7 but that’s no bad thing. Its cabin is stunning and incredibly high-tech. We’re still not sure how its dual touchscreen MMI system is going to work in the long-term, as touchscreens are always more difficult to use than physical controls. However, the setup looks good and very slick. When combined with its Virtual Cockpit digital gauge cluster, it looks incredibly high-tech.
Under the hood will be a series of familiar Audi engines, both gasoline and diesel. The key engine, though, is its 3.0 liter turbocharged V6 petrol engine, the same one you get in the Audi S4. All engines are paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and Quattro all-wheel drive. There will also be a sport rear differential as an option.
Overall, the Audi A6 is a good looking, very high-tech executive sedan that should have impressive performance. It looked great on the stand in Geneva and we can’t wait to drive it.
